Maria Hall is a certified public accountant and leads the M.D. Hall & Company hedge fund audit team.
Maria has supervised services for a full range of investment funds and investment management companies for more than a decade. Maria spent five years with the Ernst & Young Hedge Fund Group in San Francisco, where she managed audit and tax engagements for onshore and offshore funds, master feeder funds and funds of funds. She was also responsible for advising investment companies on structuring audit and compliance processes and providing consultation on regulatory and accounting matters.
Maria worked with Rothstein Kass in its Walnut Creek, CA office from 2004 until the fall of 2009, where she managed audit, tax, and compliance engagements. Her experience was utilized in the firm's quality control and national best practices efforts. She was a contributing editor to the Rothstein Kass industry newsletter, Wall Street Argus, and was valued as a developer and leader of in-house continuing education programs. She has also been invited to speak on multiple occasions to the American Society of Women Accountants on topics related to current industry challenges.
Maria and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bangalore University, India.
